This past Christmas I wanted a Keurig. No, I do not drink coffee but my husband does. We had a 12 cup pot. I always ALWAYS ALWAYS hated that pot. It leaked. You had to make 6 cups just to get the coffee right. And well my husband only used a travel mug worth.
Good for my compost pile.
Not good for the money.
Insert the lazies. The forgetfulness. The I don't wannas and coffee ended up being purchased out (at fast food place or donut shop).
This is where the keurig comes in. You can run each K-Cup through the coffee twice. My husband says it isn't weak by doing this (in fact I got the idea from a friend and she and her mom do this too and they say it is just fine too). We just take the drip tray out and put the travel mug under. One K-cup and two brews my husband has coffee.
But K cups are expensive, right? Yes, indeed they are....50-75 cents per k-cup (but still cheaper then that $1.29 or so out). BUT....we bought the EcoBrew so we can use our own coffee (store bought grounds) and after 15 brews or so the EcoBrew is paid for.
Besides when we registered our Keurig we got a coupon code for (buy two get two free) yes indeed. That is 96 k-cups for the price of 48. A little more expensive then if I had bought them in the store but I was getting 4 boxes and not two. So cheaper (this is not factored into the price above that is based on a $29 retail price variety box).
I ordered. I ordered two coffee. One hot chocolate and one vitamin drink. I ordered it last week! They say they will ship in 24-48 hours (working days only). I had not received my confirmation. They took the price debit off my bank account. I knew something was up.
I got my e-mail today. The system let me order something that was not in stock. They can't ship it and they can't charge me for it. So they have reduced the amount I owe. So now I am getting 72 K-Cups for the price of 24.
Then the coupon code at the bottom of the e-mail. Two free boxes. Free shipping.
So 120 K cups for the price of 24. A deal.
Taking the price (of what it says on the website) it would be about 75 cents per cup for all 120 count. BUT think of it this way I am only paying $15.74 for all of them that's a mere 13 cents a cup--for the kcup only (not including water, wear and tear, and electricity).
Party at my house. K-cups for everyone :) Not really.
But I have tea, hot chocolate, coffee, cappuccino (well, I don't have tea now but I will when my order comes in)

This is just awesome!
It's also convenient for when you just need a cup of hot water to throw in your tea bags!
